How you do anything is how you do everything. Hell yeah.
Spent yesterday in the middle of the festivities in gothenburg. Crowded streets, music everywhere. Fun times. Favorite quote:
English man walking by:
"... tell you wha', I am ABSOLUTELY fookin' knackard..."
Anyway, here's one of my most interesting insights as of late:
"How you do anything is how you do everything."
It's one of those well-known principles that people talk about but most people don't have direct experience of.
For me, learning and applying new social paradigms, communication skills, and so on after a weekend in Stockholm a few weeks ago... a weekend spent in large part doing random crazy things in order to challenge social pressure... has changed the way I think about business. And everything else.
In this specific example, the important bit is about "challenging social pressure" -- because I was exposed to completely new parts of myself I hadn't explored before. New experiences. Awesome.
My advise to anyone is to try as many new things as possible. It will change the way you interact with the world and how you think about everything.
Take a cooking class, bungee jump, start doing yoga, go indoors rock climbing once a week, learn a martial art, join a debate club, start writing poetry... or anything else you haven't done before.
I think especially useful would be things that scare you. Anything that involves facing your fears = awesome.
I'll leave you with this video of Sasha, about challenging social pressure.
