Child slavery and abuse is a horrible reality that millions of children in India face every single day. Even more children are at risk of being bought and sold for labour and sexual exploitation.
The Indian Parliament has the power to change this and impact the lives of millions of children. Right now, we can help by urging them to pass the Child and Adolescent Labour Abolition Bill to stop child slavery in India. It's vital that they receive as many messages of support as possible! That's why I signed the petition to end child slavery in India, and I'm hoping you will too. Here's the link: http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AH5F8/zOKS/bk3oZ
According to the family lawyer, the minimum age for criminal prosecution in Pakistan is generally 12. Charging any aged child with a serious crime is unacceptable, but holding an infant responsible for a crime is beyond absurd and abusive.
I just signed a petition asking the Pakistani government to discipline the officers who brought the charges. Will you sign too? Here's a link to the petition.
This is just awful: at least 10 tigers were electrocuted in China to "entertain" a group of businessmen.
It's horrible that these wealthy people thought it would be fun to watch any animal die in front of them, but there are only about 3,000 wild tigers left in the entire world. These people need to be severely punished for destroying these irreplaceable creatures.
I just joined an online campaign calling for everyone involved -- including the people who bought and sold tiger parts -- to be punished. Will you sign the petition too? Here's the link
Last year over 1.3 million of us called for the protection of the last place on Earth where orangutans, tigers, rhinos and elephants still roam free together. Amazingly, we froze the proposed plan that would have destroyed vast swathes of pristine rainforest in Sumatra. But now the local government is gearing up to revive the destruction, unless we act.
Palm oil, paper and mining companies stand to make money from developing this delicate ecosystem, and their pressure on the government to start cutting trees is working. But Europe holds the key to an even more powerful trade incentive for Indonesia, and experts say if the EU Ambassador speaks up now, he could protect the orangutans for good.
Conservation organisations in Sumatra are doing their best to get his attention but they’re asking for our help to amplify the urgent call.Let’s shine the global spotlight on the EU Ambassador to make sure he acts before it is too late. Sign the petition now.
Campaign by calling on the Egyptian Foreign Minister, and diplomats that have the strongest aid and trade ties, to persuade Egypt’s regime to stop the executions.
The Egyptians deserve fair trials and basic rights like free speech and freedom.

President Hamid Karzai has served for two terms and led Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban. In next month's Presidential elections, it is crucial that Afghan citizens be able to choose their next leader.
The Taliban have threatened violence against anyone who so as much as approaches a voting site. Several election workers have been attacked -- we are all the more urging President Karzai to support all citizens of Afghanistan in electing our next President through free and fair elections and to prevent any and all kinds intervention, either by foreigners or by internal elements.
If successful, this election will mark the first time there has ever been a peaceful, democratic transfer of power in Afghanistan.
I just signed petition to call for no intervention in the upcoming Presidential election. Here's a link to the petition:
