Okay everyone, I know Valentines day is next Saturday and most of the singles out there are dreading another Valentines day without someone to call their own. Well, I'm here to inform everyone that there is no longer a need to feel lonely on Valentines day or on any other day of the year for that matter.
I've been in the same shoes as everyone else out their; I still am! Come Valentines day I will not have a date or a banquet to attend with a handsome beau. Matter of fact, I will be catering and serving food at a banquet instead. I'm not here to talk bad about the fact that I wont have a beau to go with, actually I don't even mind that much. What I am here to talk about is that we should be happy in our time of singleness and not dread every single minute of it. God is allowing us to be single for a reason. He isn't holding that from you to make you mad or upset at Him. He has a perfect plan for our lives and that's what He wants us to realize. A wonderful scripture in the Bible that I love is Jeremiah 29:11(NKJV),
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God doesn't want to harm us. We are children of God! He wants only whats best for us. If that means we wait and stay single for a while, than that's what we'll do. The Bible also says,
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5&6 NKJV
God wants us to put our trust in Him. If we simply trust that God knows our desires and that His will is perfect, then He will show us and guide us when the time comes for us have a relationship. Another scripture is Isaiah 55:8&9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Just because we think that we know what is best for us, doesn't always mean that it actually is. I don't know about y'all, but I only want to God's will. I want my life to line up exactly as He sees fit. Therefore, if that means I stay single the rest of my life, then I will. When I say that, I truly mean it. I don't want anything keeping me from going to heaven. That includes a guy! Yes, I would love to find a beau and fall in love, but if it goes against God's will then forget it. No guy is going to get in between my relationship with God. God has brought me too far to look back. Besides, when I get to those Heavenly gates I want God to look at me and say, "Good job, my good and faithful servant. Enter in to the glories of the Lord!" I don't want God to turn away from me and say "Depart, for I never knew you."
Remember, just because your single now doesn't mean your always going to be. Take this time of being single and enjoy it. Bask in the Lord. Spend this time in prayer and fasting, so when the time comes for God to give you a relationship you are strong enough to stand against the enemy and the temptation that comes with having a relationship. No, not everyone is called to get married. That's not our choice to make though. God knows what we can handle and He also knows what we can't handle. If it is in God's plan for you to remain single, be joyful! That is a hard task to take on. God knows your brave enough. He has confidence in you!!
Thank You God so much! I can't thank You enough for all the plans that You have already made. I pray that You give us guidance and strength to follow Your will, no matter where You take us. Help us to be brave warriors and to stand up against the enemy. We praise You God for Your awesome wonders! Thank You so much. In Jesus' name. AMEN!
