Today is a beautiful day. Yesterday wasn't bad, but today the temperature in Busan hits a 19C high, around 66F with no clouds. This is the Busan people told me about. I spent the whole day in a T-shirt. Today feels like the opening ceremony of Spring.
Unfortunately, like most good events in life, this will be ruined by Chinese people.
I am talking about Yellow Dust season. Starting in April, yellow dust storms caused largely by Chinese industrialism and weather patterns start to get very bad in Korea. It gets worse every year, I mean what do you expect with China's growth, particularly in the manufacturing sector and the not-giving-a-fuck about the environment sector? According to wiki it's been getting so bad that even the air quality of the US West coast can suffer from the stinky Asian farts.
I always thought Asians wear those face masks to getting or spreading disease. It might look stupid, but after learning more about yellow dust it might be more stupid not to wear one. Living in post 9/11 NYC, we had problems with spikes in respiratory illness and asthma in children and adults. It was definitely a big ass deal with health reprecussions that lasted years even though it was a one time occurrence. At least Busan doesn't get hit as bad as the rest of Korea, but Yellow Dust just sounds awful no matter where you are. Add another reason to live in Busan, not Seoul.
