You'll have to forgive this last week's inactivity here on WPR. The beginning of a new calendar year often brings about a good bit of rearranging and re-prioritizing. I'll not bore you with the details, but I am taking even greater steps to take better care of myself every day. My very active artistic life can only thrive if it can stand on an increasingly healthy physical life. Especially as one gets older, one cannot deny the effect that poor health has on a body. I am taking a comprehensive approach by tackling my sleeping, nutrition, and exercise. I think it is one of the best investments I can make in myself.
With that said, WPR will be back at full throttle this week with new posts and a new banner for 2011. Other changes are in store along with several big announcements in the next few weeks. Of course, more art will be unveiled at Tropical Shade of Green.
In the meantime, here's a look at what I've been enjoying lately . . .
The other day, my sister handed her phone over to me and made me play a game called "Angry Birds". Needless to say, I really loved it. I think this cinematic trailer provides a good explanation of what it's about:

The premise is fantastic. These birds have every right to be angry!!! The pigs stole their eggs!! The objective and moral imperative of the game is to destroy the pigs. I can't help but root for these adorable angry birds!
Here's a look at how the game is played:

Okay, so maybe it's a little violent and morbid. Isn't forgiveness always a better alternative to vengeance? Well, sure, but in this case, the latter is so much more fun!!! In any case, I think I'll be uploading this game onto my laptop and playing it there until I have a proper phone with which to play. This is my new guilty pleasure when I want to take a break from my art and music. I must warn you though. It is highly addictive. I would also recommend playing Angry Birds Lite as it is a great place to start for beginners.
On the music front, I've been listening to a lot of cello music lately. Music by Yo Yo Ma in the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon soundtrack is often on repeat . . .

On the reading front, Mortimer, my Kindle reader, has been keeping me quite satisfied. I'm still slowly plowing through Moby Dick while going through other books very quickly. Having the ability to carry around several books and blogs at once has been hugely convenient. I love my Kindle.
So that's a brief update for now.
More to come very soon.

I've been knocking down walls, fairy dusting, hammering away, and de-cluttering here at WPR.
My artistic and creative juices have been overflowing lately. Most of my sites, including my main music site, youtube, twitter, and facebook have been updated to coincide with my upcoming fundraising efforts in August.
For my blog, I wanted to do a complete makeover. My goal was to make WPR feel a little bigger, light, airy, fun, and whimsical, and I think I've achieved it thus far.
My creativity and happiness are cultivated here at WPR, and I felt that it needed to look the part.
