The main characters are Abuelo and his grandson Antonito. Abuelo starts telling Antonito about life when he was a boy, when he brought up a bull, he called it Paco. Abuelo went to a bull dance and he didn't want Paco to be killed, so one night he got on Chika- the mare he usually rode, to round up the herd of bulls and set Paco free. Paco, Abuelo and Chica saw war planes which bombed on Sauseda, his village. Abuelo led down on Chika but fell off. His uncle found him and took him home.
I liked the story because of the diferent textures Michael Morpurgo used. I learnt about bullfighting and what life was like in Spain during the civil war of the 1930's. I would recommend this book to children aged six and upwards
I liked Black Beauty because he was a horse and I like horses. I liked the way that Black Beauty found Joe Green. The main characters are Black Beauty,Joe Green who is a stable boy and Ginger who is Black Beauty's friend. It is set England at the stable and Black Beauty moves from stable to stable, which I think is very annoying for the horse. I'd recommend it would be suitable for children aged 6 and upwards because people were mean to the poor horse and I think that is quite sad.
I liked Island of blue Dolphins because I like Dolphins but it was very very very sad that's why I think that it would be suitable for children aged 6 and upwards. The main characters are karana who is a little girl the white Men who are people who work on a ship and the Aleuts who also work on a ship .
Once the white Men came and took them away to their land, but Karana's brother was left behind so Krana jumped off the ship and swam all the way to her brother. A few days later the wild dogs killed her brother, The wild dogs came after the white Men came. Despite the sadness of the story the girl does every thing her self like find food and some where to sleep.
The story starts with Alice falling down a rabbit hole. She finds a passage witch leads to a little door. A little later on Alice finds a picnic where she finds March Hare and a Hatter.
The tea party was my favourite bit because the Hatter and Dormouse and March Hare were there . And I liked the Dormouse's story because he thought you draw on water instead of draw water out of a water well. I thought it was very funny . The Mock Turtle cried a lot and I thought he would hurt his eyes. I wondered what the triall was when Alice and the Gryphon heard it . I liked the bit when Alice fell down the rabbit hole because you didn't know if the rabbit hole was very big or Alice was falling very slowly.
I'd recommend 4 and upwards read this book.
The main charcter is Mrs Frisby, who is a widowed mouse that lives in a field with her small children. Every year in the summer the family has to move to a summer house away from the field because the farmer ploughs the ground over and otherwise her and her children would be killed by the plough. Her youngest son is really ill and will not be able to survive the move. The other main characters are the rats of Nimh who are very intelligent rats. They help Mrs Frisby to move her house. The story is about how the rats help Mrs Frisby and how she later helps them in return.
I really enjoyed the book and is one of my favourite books I have read. I liked how kind and thoughtful Mrs Frisby was to other animals in particular to a crow who was trying to pick up some string and got caught on a wire fence.
I would recommend 5 and upwards read this book.
Why the whales came is set in the Isles of Scilly off the coat of Cornwall, England. The main characters are Birdman or Mr Woodcock, and two childen called Gracie and Daniel. All the children in the village are told not to go near Birdman, but he leaves messages in the sand and Gracie and Daniel become friends with him. Should they trust him?
I liked the book because, I felt as though it was urging me to read on and I've been looking forward to telling you about it. Gracie and Daniel get lost in the fog. It made me feel a bit anxious. I won't tell you why as I'll give away the story. I recommend 5 and upwards read this book.

Its like a boy version of Alice in Wonderland . Because Alice in Wonderland has got lots of exiting creatures . At the beginning Milo wasn't happy because his waste of time hasn't been refunded but at the end it is refunded read along to the phantom tollbooth to find out more.
