That's the most common advice given by writers to those asking for the advice. You have to sit down and do the work. It doesn't matter if its: only 15 minutes a day; only one day a week; a word count; or a page count. Writers write.
There are a ton of reasons, such as me being in a much better place in my life (true by the way), but this is not really the place for that. I'm sure every writer has reasons as to why they can and do write just as every wanna be writer has reasons why they can't and don't write. Mine, I'm sure, are not unique.
What is unique is my voice and the content I create. That's what this blog is about. If you'd like to know more you can look me up all over the internet (my name is pretty unique). I have an author's page on Amazon. I have a Smashwords page. I have a podcast as well...although its being re-branded as I prepare to release new and improved content (more on that later).
I've been thinking about franchises lately. I'm talking about characters like James Bond, Spenser, or Elric. In this day and age of self publishing, the Kindle, Amazon, and Create Space I'm wondering if its not better for a few writers to gang up and create content all featuring a single character with multiple adventures under a single creative license. This would potentially allow for more over all content, shorter turn times between projects, and better over all content with an aggressive quality control system in place.
These authors could additionally pull together and share in promotion, blogging, social media and other skill sets as well as creating fiction content. Can four to six people make a bigger splash then just one? I wonder...
