Do you feel like life sometimes throws you a curve ball? Something you aren't expecting; that throws you completely off-balance and out of your comfort zone? I used to hate those moments and would gladly watch as they drifted by. Which is why the story is worth telling.
I spend a lot of my nights awake. It doesn't bother me and I'm not moaning about it. But occasionally when I really do want to sleep with the moon in the sky, I am completely unable to. Last night was one of those nights. Rather inexplicably I came up with the idea to go for a run. Tire myself out and get some much-needed exercise; makes total sense.
I don't own any health clothes so I threw on a tank top, a pair of denim jeans I'd cut into shorts and a pair of espadrilles. I was feeling pretty fierce. In hindsight, this is how I felt I looked:
ANYWAYS, I got about two minutes away from my house, when I spot this lying in a randomer's garden:
Usually my first instinct would be to completely ignore such a sight, run on and tell no-one of what I saw. Imagine my surprise then, when I found myself stopping and trying to wake him up. He was snoring, which I took to be an encouraging sign, but after five minutes of interspersed; 'Hello?'s, 'Can you hear me?'s and 'Are you okay?'s and gentle prodding/shaking I decided there was no way I on my lonesome was going to manage to awaken him from his drunken slumber. So I thought to myself, when I wake up hungover, what's the first thing I get?
I put him in the recovery position (which I never EVER thought I'd have to use, I was shocked I could remember it) and ran to my house. I found an empty bottle, filled it with cold water and attached the following note:
