Oooo..no worries..I will not start with the zen and Dalai Lama stuff...
Yesterday I attended the first yoga class from a series of 12. I practiced yoga before..but so many years ago that it's back to basics. Nice place, not good for those who can't stand scented sticks (but that is only in the waiting/reception area).
- take your shoes off at the entrance in the customer area
- leave an ID/Opencard/money as a deposit for the locker key (?)
Pretty simple. Oh and one more thing: don't eat before going to the class. You will understand why.
Two expats in a class of 6. Two boys, the rest girls. Imagine..two dudes. This is my first time to see two guys in balance. Basic moves, doable. But as time flies, also we fly, Stand on one leg, holding the other with one hand and waving to the sky with the remaining one. BUT the best part comes when the teacher says..now stand on your hands. In a "hidden dragon crouching tiger" position. I tried, God is my witness that I tried. I will practice at home with pillows and my cat in balance on top of me. Let's see if I manage.
Overall the fun also came from the cracks I heard coming from my friend -at a point I asked her if I have to call the ambulance, from me not being able to breathe in the weirdest make-yourself-a-ball positions as well as the muscle blockages that I had..made me laugh (in order not to cry).
So..next monday, new class. The saints help us all.
PS: no pain today ..that is a good one
