The “New” World

On Sara Alina

I took a plane from Vienna down to Saint Petersburg, Florida, when I was about 13 years old. It did not occur to me until I got on the plane that I was leaving everything behind. My comfort, my family, my home, just everything. Moving somewhere so new and far away is scary, I thought. I was scared because I didn’t know anyone except for my dad. I was never the kind of girl to have an outgoing personality, which made making friends even harder. But when I arrived, the new kind of made me wonder. There was so much out there that I had not yet discovered. For me, I started a new life that day!

What do you love about fashion?

I love how fashion has such an influential impact on our lives. Whether we intend it to or not, what we wear makes a powerful statement about our style; our personality; our daily life. I also love the ideal of having / achieving iconic style or je ne sais quoi {something special you cannot quite place}. "Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” — Yves Saint-Laurent
