As we all know a flat and defined stomach is the goal of 99.9% of people living on this planet. If you’ve worked out before, thought about working out or have no desire to workout but still want to look good then you can relate to this statement I have made. The news, media & world of entertainment depict the idea that being in shape can open all types of doors for you. This type of “brainwashing” can be seen from the time you turn on your T.V to the time you drive home at night and see the billboard of the models having fun at a party in their bikinis. Just because I say brainwashing doesn’t necessarily make it a bad thing. As our evolution continues we learn of more ways to prolong our lifespan on this planet & healthy/smart eating is one of the things that we keep getting better at as we evolve. Eating well and staying in shape will cause for less doctor visits, fewer aches & pains and will keep not only our physical selves happy but our mental state as well.
For some, staying in great shape is a struggle everyday that they face. For others their health & wellness is a lifestyle for them, working out for these people has become as routine as getting up in the morning to brush your teeth. Here are my top fitness motivators that will help you to turn fitness into a lifestyle.
Dwayne Johnson ~ “If something stands between you and your success, move it. Never be denied”
Arnold Schwarzenegger ~ “Start wide expand further and never look back”
Jim Rohn ~ “Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live”
Anonymous ~ “Discipline is just choosing between what you want now and what you want most”
Unknown ~ “If you’re tied of starting over, stop giving up”
Michael Jordan ~ “Some people want it to happen some with it would happen, others make it happen.”
That was just a few of my personal favorites, I do hope that this was able to give some inspiration and motivation for whoever needed it. Never give up, never surrender and always stay happy. You only have one life to live so make sure you’re the best possible you at all times.
1.) Put The Past Behind You:
It’s a new year and a new you, forget about how you were lazy and unmotivated in the past, forget about all the late night snacks you had or unhealthy habits you may have acquired throughout your past. Time to put the past behind you and look forward to a new future and a new you.
2.) Like Attracts Like:
Surrounding yourself with a few people that are interested in reaching similar fitness goals as you is one of the easiest ways to be motivated. Some people do it for the competition aspect and others do it because they just like the company. Whatever the reason is, just having someone to talk to about fitness or to workout with side by side will get you motivated for the new year.
3.) Remember Your Goal:
CONSISTENCY.....this is one thing that separates the men from the boys in the game of life. Lets stop and break the word down for a second.
"manufacturing processes require a consistent approach"
Why work legs?
As you may or may not know already, your legs are the base of your whole workout, and a strong base is the start to an overall great physique. Leg day is usually the easiest day to skip, people normally focus more on chest, biceps, and triceps, body parts that are more visible to the eye at first site. What many people don’t know is that working your legs is an excellent cardio workout & burns a higher number of calories than solely working any other upper body part. The reason for this is the release of hormones & testosterone when training legs. As you may or may not know testosterone is used by the body to help build muscle and burn fat. Many athletes work legs in order to jump higher run faster & perform better over all in their premier sport. Here are some leg day workouts that you will be able to use and start you on your way to the perfect physique you’ve dreamed of.
Leg day (day 1)
Squats – Max weight
5 sets/8 reps
One of my most FAVORITE past times is working out, however I don't always utilize the gym in order to get the job done. I believe that your body is your biggest asset in the workout world, body weight exercises are a good way to get nice and lean, which in my opinion being lean is what the world is looking for now. The days of Arnold being PUMPED UP to the MAX are dying slowly, a fashion designer would want you to fit into his/her clothes with a slick, lean look. On the other hand everyone has a preference and people do different things for different reasons.
Here are my top 5 body weight exercises that'll get you looking like a superhero!!!
5.) Push ups – One of the most common body weight exercises, this movement can work a large portion of the upper body from chest to triceps, shoulders or core; all depending on how you execute it. There are three main ways to do a push up here they are as follows:
Standard – shoulders and hands should be aligned evenly, then execute the movement. Primary muscle worked is chest; secondary muscles worked are triceps & shoulders.
Diamond – Bring your hand close together so that your index fingers and thumbs touch and create a triangle, now execute the movement. Primary muscles worked are triceps and chest; secondary muscle worked is back.

I've done a bit of blogging here and there in my time but now I'm going to start a journey which will last about 5 months after my wife gives birth to our first child. Every week will be a new blog post showing workouts nutritional tips and motivation on how to get back into shape after giving birth.
RIght now we are in the final month and the baby should be here any day now. Once she is here posts will be going up every week and I hope that you follow along and track your progress along with ours over the next few months.
I am incredibly excited to get started with this project, you will learn more about me and my family as time goes along, until then be prepared and on your toes because it will be a tough ride but well worth it in the end.
I'll also be blogging about other health and wellness tips and exercises aside from this project so be on the look out for that as well.
