Valentine's Day is a day to show your partner how much you love them, and this year was a special one for me and my husband as it was the 10th anniversary of our very first date.
I was 19 at the time, he was 23 and we had been working together at a large law firm in Manchester for 8 months before he plucked up the courage to ask me out on a date.
Thinking about it now, I still can't believe that was way back in 2004! This year, to celebrate 10 years together, we wanted to do something special but couldn't decide what to do, and then I spotted a competition running on the @A_Listed Twitter page to win a Valentine's night out at Lola Lo in Manchester.
We'd never been to Lola Lo before but had heard good things about it from friends and colleagues, so I entered and kept my fingers crossed!
I couldn't believe it when we were announced as the winning couple! What a fantastic way to celebrate 10 years together! We were really looking forward to it! As soon as we walked into Lola Lo we felt welcomed and were shown to our own private 'tiki booth' which had been reserved for us and was decorated with heart confetti, love heart sweets and valentines hats!
The staff were all lovely and looked great in their patterned dresses and Hawaiian shirts! We really enjoyed the food and the way it was presented, and the cocktails.....let's just say we will be back again very soon!
We can highly recommend the 'Good Time Girl' and 'Zombie' cocktails! Lola Lo has a really nice vibe and is a great place for a date or a group of friends to meet for cocktails and a good gossip! I'd like to say a huge thank you to A-Listed Magazine and the staff at Lola Lo for helping to make our anniversary a special one!
The last 10 years with my husband have flown by and we're looking forward to the next 10 years together! I know this sounds really soppy but he really is my soul mate and best friend.
I can't quite believe it but he even still loves me when I haven't done my hair or pencilled in my eyebrows (trust me, if you saw me like this then you would be amazed too!) I hope everyone reading this had a fabulous Valentine's Day too as we certainly did!
